Xbox Live has been offline for over six hours as of this post, and according to an update timestamped 10:14 EST, the team is close to resolving the issue. According to the Xbox website, the outage affects cloud gaming, remote play, as well as games and gaming. What it means for users is not only can you not play your streaming games, but you won’t be able to play digital games downloaded to your system. For instance Xbox Game Pass games will be unplayable while the servers are down. Also some of the digital games you bought may not work.
Neither the Microsoft or the Xbox Twitter accounts have acknowledged the extended downtime as of yet. The Xbox Support account posted a few hours ago that users should be able to complete purchases. As for playing those games, not so much.
