Neverwinter VIP: $10 A Month For $37 Worth Of Keys
Perfect World Entertainment has released details on an upcoming subscription system for Neverwinter. Dubbed VIP, the subscription plan acts as both a membership and running loyalty program at the same time in that it levels up the longer a player subscribes and offers more bonuses as the months progress. To top it off, you don’t lose VIP rank if you unsubscribe, you simply start off where you left off the next time you add another payment.
What caught my eye, however, is the fact that immediately at VIP rank 1, the first, the player begins receiving one enchanted key per day for the entirety of the 30 day subscription. At the cost of 125 Zen per key, this runs to 3,750 Zen or approximately $37.50 worth of keys if you log in every single one of the 30 days and manually claim the key. 3,750 Zen worth of keys for 1,000 Zen in investment.
To top it off, if you’re the kind of hardcore person who can conceivably make 1,000 zen in less than a month by converting Astral Diamonds, you can get VIP for free. And if you get lucky and get some rare drops from the boxes you open, you could sell those on the market for Astral Diamonds and fund another month.
Just something to think about.

RuneScape VIP Q&A Highlights
Jagex recently conducted a question and answer session with the VIP members (people who purchased the premiere club membership this year), and if you aren’t a member you can’t access the forums. The list is massive, so instead of reproducing the Q&A 1:1 and likely crashing this website, I’ve decided to consolidate the answers into an easily digestible list.
If you don’t play RuneScape, many of these answers will mean nothing to you. You can read the Q&A in its entirety at the Tip.It forums.
- In the works:
- Bosses similar to Vorago.
- Skillcape rework, redesigns will be polled.
- Clue Scroll rework from February poll.
- New God War event, no ETA.
- New resource dungeon -Elf City Batch 2.
- Invention skill will be player polled.
- Transferring pets to pet interface.
- Low priority, but in the works:
- Search function in quest list.
- Technically possible, not in the works:
- Bank organization presets.
- Color-blind mode.
- Technically impossible:
- Accessing certain interfaces while in combat.
- Not currently in development:
- Recolor Drygore equipment.

- Elf quests.
- Skiller boss.
- Not being considered:
- Altering Arraxxor drop list.
- Buff Hydrix jewelry.
- Bank booster bundles.
Guild Wars 2 VIP Membership Discovered
Dataminers on Reddit unearthed the above information regarding a VIP membership for Guild Wars 2. Although no price is detailed, membership includes a bundle of extras, including bank and inventory space, convenient banking/trading, and more. There are at least 20 tiers, going by the VIP badges found in the Mists beta client. Mark Kerstein, Head of Global Community, commented on the forums to point out that the VIP member is an internal experiment and is not intended for western gamers.
This is a testing branch. We conduct internal experiments for various territories on our testing branches. This particular experiment is not being tested for the West.
Whether or not VIP will make it into Guild Wars 2 in any territory will have to be seen.

Age of Wushu’s Subscription Is Character-Bound

Those of you in the know are likely already aware that Age of Wushu is a free to play title featuring a cash shop and VIP subscription. What you may not have known, even if you have played Age of Wushu during its long beta period, is that the VIP subscription is bound to your character, not your account, as stated by Snail Game’s Community Moderator:
VIP will be character bound. If you have VIP currently on Blue Dragon, you will not have VIP on White Tiger.
Age of Wushu’s VIP service costs $10 per month, per character that you wish to attach it to, and offers perks including offline leveling, increased rewards and warehouse/stall space, and more. I’d like to think that the problem here is some combination of poor translation and perhaps a misunderstanding of the market. Taken for what it is, VIP is basically a package of time-based perks that you buy from the gold shop. It isn’t a traditional subscription in the sense that you enter your credit card details and the game bills you monthly, you have to manually top off your account with gold and purchase the package.
Owing that, Age of Wushu’s VIP being character bound isn’t really surprising or unprecedented, even if it doesn’t invalidate complaints by some players that the service should be account-wide. Perhaps the mistake is that the VIP package sounds too similar to the traditional subscription services we’ve come to expect from other MMOs, which explains why some players are surprised that the benefits are character-bound. Either way, the reaction I’ve seen to this has been pretty mixed, with players split pretty much down the middle in support/rejection.

Double The Turbine Points: In Plain English

If you are, or have been, a VIP player on Dungeons and Dragons Online, you already know how the system works: In addition to the normal perks of being a VIP player, you are given 500 Turbine points a month as something of an allowance. These extra points can go towards anything that the VIP program itself does not give, be it mercenaries or other perks.
From now until August 10th, VIP’ers will receive double the monthly alloted, one thousand points, to spend on their liking, and I found a number of people were confused as to how this will work out.
I receive my points on:
- Before June 11th: You will receive your double points in July and in August. Your points for June will have already been deposited.
- After June 11th: You will receive double your points this month, double your points next month, and August will be back to normal.
So those of you with current subscriptions will receive two months worth of double points, no matter what part of the month your subscription renews.
If you are not a VIP member of Dungeons and Dragons Online, you have until July 11th to enjoy two months of VIP, otherwise those who subscribe after July 11th will only receive one month.
Hopefully when Lord of the Rings Online goes free to play this year, we may see a similar promotion. This promotion does not include regular players buying their points.
