Destiny 2: Devil’s Ruin Exotic Sidearm Available

The Devil’s Ruin Exotice Sidearm is finally available in Destiny 2, and the process to get your hands on it is…surprisingly short.

1. A Lost Relic

First step in getting your hands on the Devil’s Ruin is to actually start the quest by completing a run of the Sundial on Mercury and defeating champions. You don’t actually have to defeat a certain number of champions, just finish the Sundial and the quest step will be available in the same window you pick your reward weapon from at the end of the run. Turn in the quest to Saint-14 at the tower and he’ll give you your next assignment.

2. A Tour Through History

For this step you’ll be sent to a crucible map, but don’t worry! You won’t actually be playing a crucible match. Instead your job is to collect weapon fragments in the Twilight Gap. Head over to the Earth Defense Zone and click on the quest popup in the lower left hand corner. You’ll be taken to an instance zone where you will need to hunt out and find robot corpses scattered throughout the level.

You’ll hear some interesting chatter between Saint-14, Osiris, and Shaxx as friends catch up with each other and talk about the old days.

3. Enjoy The Gun!

Is that it? I told you the quest line was short. No padding, no killing a battalion of enemy troops, nothing. Just a quick trip and a fun conversation.

Devil’s Ruin has the Close The Gap trait which lets you hold the fire button down to charge a staggering laser. It also has the pyrogenesis trait that causes a fully charged laser to refill the magazine from reserves. It is a versatile weapon that should be powerful in either PvE or PvP.

PSA: [RuneScape] For People Stuck In the Desperate Times Quest

I wanted to post this PSA for those of you who, like me, waited until this week’s update to finish the RuneScape quest Desperate Times. At one point in the quest you’ll get to the area from the quest Missing, Presumed Death, and get stuck. Why? Well you’ll get to the area above and not know where to go. The door is closed and won’t even respond to your interactions, there aren’t any other paths forward, and you’re basically screwed.

Or are you?

Long story short, the door shouldn’t be there. The door isn’t there, but for some reason the latest update has brought back entities that should be invisible to the player. The good news is that Jagex is aware of the bug and working on a fix. The better news is that you don’t have to wait until they are removed. Grit your teeth folks, because the method to get around this bug until Jagex actually fixes it is to…click past the door.

Yep, just click past it as if it wasn’t there, because it isn’t really. Your player character will just walk right through. There are a few doors on the way and a couple elements to just ignore. This only seems to be affecting people on the NXT client, so alternately you can boot up the Java client and they shouldn’t even be present.

Old School RuneScape Launches Dragon Slayer II

Old School RuneScape is celebrating its fifth year with the revival of a classic in the form of Dragon Slayer II. The long awaited sequel to one of the first quests released for RuneScape, Dragon Slayer II is only for high level players that have completed a long list of requirements and are ready to go up against some challenging enemies. The quest also sees the launch of the Myths Guild, a questing guild only accessible to players with 200 quest points who complete the new Dragon Slayer quest.

While Dragon Quest II is for members only, free to play content related to the release is also out today in the form of a novice quest, the Corsair Curse, and the settlement Corsair Cove.

“More than 16 years after the original Dragon Slayer quest launched and gave players their toughest challenge, we’re giving them an even grander challenge to overcome with Dragon Slayer II, one of our most memorable adventures yet!” said Mathew Kemp, Senior Product Manager, Old School RuneScape. “2018 is a real milestone year for Old School RuneScape; in addition to celebrating our fifth anniversary next month, we’re of course looking forward to the launch of Old School on mobile platforms soon!”

Jagex Brings RuneScape to the Amazon Alexa

RuneScape is great, but what about those times when you don’t want to play RuneScape but you’d like to listen to it, preferably through a smart device manufactured and sold by Amazon. If you fit that demographic, there is finally good news. Jagex has partnered with Amazon and released RuneScape Quests: One Piercing Note, an interactive murder mystery audio adventure in which the player takes on the role of investigator.

Showcasing dramatic voice acting and atmospheric music wrapped in compelling audio gameplay, RuneScape Quests: One Piercing Note is based on a classic quest adapted from the PC MMORPG. Players become the voice of a courageous adventurer, tasked with solving a murder at the Abbey of St Elspeth. The crime scene investigation soon takes a turn for the unusual as demonic dark secrets are uncovered in the seemingly serene abbey.

RuneScape Quests: One Piercing Note is available in the skills section of the Alexa app.

RuneScape Is 15, Brings Back Andrew Gower For New Quest

JagexLauncher 2015-09-24 04-07-54-01

It’s hard to believe that, as of next year, RuneScape will be older than some of its players. Launched in 2001 as a project by Andrew Gower, RuneScape exploded in popularity to become one of the most played games on the internet. In its fifteen years, the browser MMO has spawned two major upgrades as well as several spinoff versions including the upcoming card game Chronicles. To celebrate the anniversary, Jagex is planning on making 2016 a big year for content.

“To reach this incredible 15-year anniversary milestone is astonishing for everybody working on RuneScape, especially as it continues to experience a fantastic resurgence of players. It is testament to our loyal, passionate, and growing community, that the development teams at Jagex can continue to tell new stories within the world of Gielinor,” said Phil Mansell, vice president, RuneScape.

Founders Andrew and Paul Gower are set to return as guest designers on their own quest, Gower Quest, due to release in Spring 2016. January brings with it the invention skill, the first in a line of ‘elite skills’ introducing new ways to level up your character. Using invention, players will be able to dismantle equipment in order to use the components to upgrade their other gear. Further into the year marks the launch of RuneScape’s newest client, bringing better performance and higher graphical fidelity.

Darkfall Quests Coming In Autumn

Darkfall01

Aventurine has announced today that quests are coming to Darkfall Unholy Wars this Autumn. The first batch of quests will cater to new and old players, with availability varying from right in your face to obscure and more difficult to find. Quests are designed to be open-ended journeys that integrate players with recent and ancient history of the world of Agon. Quests suggested by players will also be introduced in this and future batches.

One quest example that Aventurine sent over is the Suspicious Altar, where players will stumble upon ancient altars and devices connected to some nefarious plot that must be unraveled. We will have more information on Darkfall’s quest system as it becomes available.
