Trion Worlds Compensates (Again) Players For ArcheAge Downtime (Again)

At some point the news will just revert to posting articles when ArcheAge goes a full month without having any server issues or lengthy downtime. Until then, we will be here to report on every time players are offered their regular stipend of compensation.

ArcheAge’s recent downtime, not to be confused with the downtime last month after the launch of the fresh start servers, has spurred compensation for players who tried to log in between January 6th and January 12th. The statement by Trion Worlds is as follows:

Adventurers, we know many of you were affected by the recent sets of server downtime and errors that prevented you from logging in, and we want to offer you all a pack of compensation items. Our teams continue to work to fix these errors and make your experience as smoothly as possible, and we really appreciate you sticking with us through all of it!

As part of the compensation, all players will receive:

  • 2 Daru Warrior’s Chests
  • 12 Warrior’s Medals
  • 2 Bound Worker’s Compensation: 1000
  • 5 Merit Badges
  • 2 Eternal Hero Potions, worth 500 honor each.
  • 20 Bound Hereafter Stones

Firefall Disappears From Steam After Downtime

firefall

Firefall is still missing from Steam following a period of downtime, although the game is still running and people are still playing. While Red5 Studios has yet to make a statement on why the game was removed, only to state that it is expected to come back in the next couple of days, speculation is rampant that a mob of player reports to Steam that the game had been shut down were responsible for its delisting.

Our servers are back up running at full strength now, Sorry and Thank you all for being patient and understanding through this unexpected downtime.

According to Polygon, nobody at Red5 was responding to inquiries earlier today.

We attempted to reach Red 5 by phone, but no one picked up; the developer’s phone system no longer lists any active extensions. An email sent to Red 5’s press line bounced back.

It isn’t hard to understand why people assumed that Firefall’s website and server going offline was merely a precursor to the game suddenly sunsetting. According to reports, all of the remaining staff on Firefall were let go in July’s layoffs. Players have panned the game as dead, abandoned by a developer that apparently no longer exists in any real capacity.

Trove To Take Two Days Off, Upgrade Servers

TROVE_ACT_PAX_DungeonBattle_01a

Who’s to say that MMOs shouldn’t get a nice two day weekend every few years? If you’ve been playing Trove recently, you are likely well acquainted with the ongoing server issues. The issue, naturally, is that the game has grown too large in scope for the current hardware to handle, with player clubs particularly outgrowing in size what the server can reasonably process. As a result, the game is going offline from the 19th to the 21st in order to place in new hardware.

For the last few weeks we’ve been testing our new storage system on the on the Public Test Server. We’re happy to say that it’s gone well, and it’s time to do it live! However, it’s going to take some time – up to 48 hours to complete the full upgrade.

The Trion team hopes that the new hardware will result in less downtime, more stability, and faster reboots should anything go haywire. Anyone who logs in between the 21st and the 24th will receive a number of items as compensation for the downtime.

Log Into Trove For A Free Class This Weekend

2015-07-08 195914

To compensate players for recent downtime, Trion Worlds is handing out another free class coin to anyone who logs in between now and midnight Pacific Sunday night. The downtime stemmed from a seemingly simple database upgrade that went awry, forcing the game offline for several hours and requiring that Trion rollback the servers to earlier in the morning.

Thankfully, credits and cubits were returned to players who had purchased and subsequently lost them during that period.

We’ve returned the Credits and Cubits to everyone who made purchases. We also made sure all real money purchases got their goods. Some people might even get double since we wanted to be extra careful. The only exception is the Credit deals (i.e., if you got Credits plus lures or pinatas) in those cases we couldn’t give you the bonus items, so we gave you +50% Credits instead.

This is the second free class coin handed out since Trove went free to play.

You may have read that on tomorrow, May 11th, the Playstation Network will be down for nearly ten hours for maintenance. The Playstation network status page originally had Monday’s maintenance scheduled to begin at 10:30pm EST on May 11th and run until 8am EST on May 12th.

Well that isn’t happening anymore. The new maintenance begins 9pm Pacific (midnight EST) on May 11th and ends two hours later.

Trion Worlds Details ArcheAge Downtime Compensation

ARCHEAGE 2014-10-10 12-02-23-78

Trion Worlds has posted a news piece detailing upcoming compensation for ArcheAge players following recent extended periods of downtime and instability with the game’s service. All players who have “ever been a patron” will receive a Patron pack including five days of patron time, 15 Superior Worker’s Compensation potions, 30 loyalty tokens, three Greedy Goblin Gummies (+10% loot drop rate), three Frankenflavor Jawbreakers (+10% exp), and three Marshmallow Sugar Pumpkins (+3% move speed).

This does take a while, and it’ll be running through the rest of today.

Non-patrons will receive a package including 10 Superior Worker’s Compensation potions, 15 loyalty tokens, as well as three of the other items listed above. These packages are being distributed via the Glyph account page, with emails being sent out once players can redeem them.

Neverwinter’s Double Diamond Dash Dismantles D’Servers

GameClient 2013-03-08 22-00-27-55

As a critic, I can’t get enough of the action combat and battling against iconic creatures from Dungeons & Dragons. As a fan, I’m creating many quests and campaigns with the foundry. As a reader, you probably figured out a long time ago that I’m reading from the news page. Cryptic Studios recently announced that with the rampant success of the Neverwinter beta/soft launch/massage parlor, that gamers of all sorts would be able to enjoy a weekend of double diamonds starting Friday and running through what I assume will be 11:59 pm PST.

Naturally, the servers are crashing, and by that I mean more so than they have over previous weekends. Perfect World has had to take the game down multiple times for emergency maintenance. Perfect World has been working to get the servers to a stable position, despite the overwhelming traffic, and ultimately the three servers currently available will be merged into one.

Trion Hands Out Compensation For Defiance

Defiance 2013-04-03 15-51-14-86

It’s been a rough week for Defiance players, from server downtime to a treasure trove of patches being churned out on the consoles to fix stability problems. People were missing keys, others didn’t receive pre-order items, and or had to wait a very long time for their patcher to download the game. Trion is aware of this and according to the developer blogs, currently has a massive patch ready to go for April 15th. Ahead of that, however, Trion would like to do what any developer does when things go sour for the user: Shower them in swag.

Players should find one week boosts for scrip, XP, loot, and weapons in their accounts, as well as an exclusive title (Daredevil).

We hope this shows you that we do appreciate you on this journey of Defiance, trying out something new, trying something different. The first episode is on Monday and honestly, we’re pretty excited doing something that hasn’t been done before. Well, the brutal honesty is that we don’t know what to feel. Scared, excited, nervous, giddy, ecstatic. Normal, I think. I’ll tell you after the weekend.

EA Sends Origin Coupons In Response To Playstation Store Downtime

OriginsEA_logo

Update: EA has retracted its free game offer, noting that the original notice was created in mistake. EA CFO Blake Jorgensen reached out to MMO Fallout to explain what was simply a case of mistaken identity:

Electronic Arts stands at the head of a large number of subsidiaries, and it’s become so hard to  keep track of how many we’ve had to apologize for that we decided to set up an automated system we call the Apology Bot 3000. Unfortunately the system still has some kinks to work out and sent out the coupons under the false pretense that EA owns Sony. We apologize for the mistaken apology and to compensate our users, we will be sending each of our members an unlock code for a free copy of Peggle on the Playstation Vita.

Original Story: In an unexpected and unexplainable move, Electronic Arts has reached out in apology to Playstation 3 owners affected by today’s Playstation Store downtime, and has offered the console users a free Origin game as compensation for their frustration and time. Gamers are admittedly confused by the sudden move, since EA is neither responsible for the Playstation Store, or are they at fault for the store’s extended downtime. Still, it’s rude to look a gift horse in the mouth, and EA is offering players a free copy of Battleforge, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Need For Speed World, and Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes.

We will hopefully have a comment from Sony on the matter once they stop screening our calls.
