We are six days out from Destiny’s launch and I am three days out from completing the story mode and hitting level 20. Some of you may be confused on how Destiny’s level cap is 20 yet the “real level cap” is 30. The way this works is that, after level 20, you begin finding equipment with a light value. The better the light value, the higher your post-20 level. This also means that it is possible to level down by removing light-bearing equipment.

Today’s MMOrning Shot is a rather old screenshot from Line of Defense, the upcoming MMO shooter from 3000AD. Why is this significant? Next quarter, 3000AD is set to launch a companion app for Line of Defense in the form of a top down real time strategy squad shooter for iOS and Android. The crux of the game is that it features squad based combat set in the same world as Line of Defense, with the ability to outfit your troops and send them into battle. While the bulk of the game is in the single player strategy, the app will also serve as a companion for the full MMO, offering detailed information on the world’s inhabitants and their motives.
Line of Defense Tactics is set to go live next quarter.

Today’s MMOrning Shot comes from Sony Online Entertainment and showcases DC Universe Online’s upcoming DLC Origin Crisis. Players will be tasked with battling through time and alternate realities with Lex Luthor and Superman with the goal of preserving or altering the origins of certain heroes and villains. Origin Crisis also introduces a new powerset, Quantum, allowing the player to manipulate time and gravity itself.
