Bethesda’s Support Website Leaks Personal Information
Fallout 76: It’s a game that was afforded maybe two hours of good press before Bethesda drove it straight into a brick wall.
Bethesda’s games are notoriously buggy, but evidently not even their support system can escape the company curse. Such is the story of Reddit user Jessiepie who found her account suddenly able to view the support tickets of other users including their email addresses, home addresses, receipts, credit card details, and every problem that they are currently having with Fallout 76 and more specifically receiving their replacement canvas bag.
For their part, Bethesda claims that the issue has been resolved. As one user on the forums put it,
“That’s a shocking departure from their usual meticulous attention to bug-free systems. “
NCSoft Updated Timeline

It’s been three years since MMO Fallout last published the NCSoft Timeline, and it’s about time for an update. As it was back in 2013, the graph shows NCSoft’s timeline of support for their major MMOs, from their date of launch to their current state. Some figures may seem innaccurate as they start at the earliest launch, that being in Korea.
I plan on running more charts like this in the future.

Destiny Putting Older Consoles Into Maintenance Mode This Year

Gamers who haven’t made their way to the current generation of consoles will be disappointed to find out that Destiny’s next expansion, Rise of Iron, will not be available on their respective platforms. Set to launch in September, Rise of Iron will be exclusive to Playstation 4 and Xbox One. While The Taken King will still be available on older consoles, Bungie warns that future content will be limited on the 360 and PS3, including:
- Future Game Updates and Content Releases
- Some Destiny Events and Content
- Purchasing Silver
- Accessing new Eververse Item purchases across console generations
- Some Destiny Companion features on the Mobile App and Bungie.net
Beginning in August, Bungie will be providing an account import tool to upgrade your characters to a newer system. According to the FAQ, upgrades must be within the same console family (PS3 to PS4, 360 to XOne), under the same ID, and not all content will transfer. In addition, older consoles will no longer receive major content updates.
The list of features being disabled on older consoles includes:
- Trials of Osiris
- Iron Banner
- Live Events
- Purchasing Silver
- Cross-platform progress

Guild Wars Dropping .05% Of Players, Old Windows OS

As a college student living off of what I can, I am sympathetic to the plight of people who cannot afford to buy a new computer. Unfortunately, the time comes in any game’s life where those who for one reason or another are unable to upgrade, are left behind, and generally developers ensure that this comes at a time when it affects as few customers as possible. After all, no one likes having a game they bought and probably invested in subscriptions or cash shop items stripped away from them.
For Guild Wars, Arenanet has announced that on June 14th, 2012, the game will no longer support Windows 95, 98, 98SE, and Millenium Edition. According to Stephane Lo Presti, this should impact less than .05% off the community.
Since the launch of Guild Wars in 2005 we’ve stayed locked into our original minimum system requirements. Unfortunately, the game has reached a point where this is preventing us from deploying important features.
For Wine users, whether or not Guild Wars will still function is up in the air as it is unsupported.
